 "Holiday Classic" Field Tournament.
This event is our biggest fundraiser of the year
We need parent participation to help make this event a success!

Parents are needed to set up, clean up and work the Snack Bar
when the students leave to dress and perform their exhibition
performance at the end of the Tournament.
Students will return after they perform to clean up.

Chairpersons for various operations that take place during
Tournament are needed.  Each chair may have a co-chair.
Chairpersons manage and direct the students in their responsibilities.
They will also control dinner breaks for those students assigned to them.

  • Tournament Coordinator /Co Coordinator
Manage and "oversee" the Tournament.  Make sure that everything is organized, that volunteers are assigned to the various jobs.  Requires administrative and people skills.

  • Host/Hostess
Assign students to meet school buses as they arrive on the campus
(two for each school). Students will hand stamp all participants on the buses. Student will then escort the Director to "sign in" area where adults will confirm sign in and performance time.  Student will then escort Band off bus to assigned practice area.   At Band call time, student will escort Band to and from performance field.  Students must be appropriately dressed and be courteous at all times. Any problems or conflicts with visiting staff or students should be dealt with in the most diplomatic manner possible.

  • Parking
Direct arriving buses, support vehicles and staff to parking area.
Keep Host/Hostess Chairpersons aware of arriving schools so they may dispatch students assigned to escort them.

  • Security
Control entry to performance area and into stadium. Admit paying public
and participants only. Control traffic into the stands by not permitting traffic during performances. If there are any altercations please report only, do not attempt to interact.

  • Program Editor
Compiles "Holiday Classic" Ads, Performance Line-up, and prepares
    Program to take to printer.

  • Hospitality
Organize obtaining food to be served ONLY to the Band Directors, their aides, and Judges.  Is located at North End Snack Bar where an eating area will be set up in front. The students will assist in the set-up and serving. Students return after they perform to clean up. They will also run errands for the Judges as needed. Judge Runners (Juniors & Seniors) have to be current in the Band Fees.

  • Program Sales
A table or the "Doghouse" will be used for the sale of Programs. The adults
will keep track of monies and programs issued to students and will also sell Programs to incoming patrons. Students will take programs around the bleachers to be sold. Adults will collect the money and any unsold programs from the students. Prices will be set prior to event.

  • Ticket Sales
Set up at main gate entrance. Sell tickets to those entering stadium. One
adult collects money and issues tickets. Another Adult or adults takes tickets at gate and (2) students will stamp hands after tickets are taken. Two other students will check hand stamps for re-entry of guests that have left and
